As with so many children with vivid imaginations, Avalon believes in monsters. She creates monster illusions in the dark from her bed late at night. Beyond the age of monster belief, older brother Billy tries to soothe her to no avail. Billy tries to convince her that monsters are not real. Alex, her father, reads comforting fairy tales to her. But still she believes that monsters really do exist.
